Renewals Invoicing

Tag Holders receive consolidated invoices from Nominet – renewals invoices are blue – and should then invoice each Registrant individually for the Domain Names held by them.

The fee for new registrations and renewals is the same. Tag Holders who are also Nominet members qualify for the reduced fee and will be invoiced at the discounted rate which is currently £5 plus VAT for a two-year registration period.

If a Tag Holder, who is also a Nominet Member, receives a renewal invoice for a Domain Name at the full price of £80 plus VAT, it is likely that the Domain name has a Nominet Tag (and not that of the Tag Holder) because the Registration occurred before the Tag Holder’s account was active. In order to change the Tag, the Registrant – and not the Tag Holder – will need to make a formal request in writing to Nominet.

Tag Holders should note that if they instruct Nominet to invoice the Registrant direct, the full fee of £80 plus VAT for a two-year registration period applies, and that Nominet will send accompanying information with the invoice, explaining to the Registrant that they are being invoiced directly at the request of their ISP.
