 Advance Notifications

Nominet will send Tag Holders advance notifications of those Domain Names that are due for renewal the following month.

This notification period allows Tag Holders to:

  • specify which renewals, if any, Nominet is to invoice directly to the Registrant
      
  • indicate any Domain Names that they no longer wish to renew, having first checked with their customers
     
  • ensure that their customer records are up to date, especially in respect of registrations transferred from other ISPs.

Tag Holders should remember that some Registrants will change ISP during this period - for example, a Registrant due for a renewal in August may change ISP during July and move to a Tag Holder who would otherwise have received no advance notification from Nominet of the renewal of the Domain Name; the Tag Holder will of course receive a renewal invoice in August nonetheless.

Tag Holders may use the Automaton at any time - via the query facility - to check which registrations are due for renewal and which are currently invoiced directly to the Registrant by Nominet.
