How to use WHOIS

In general the new rules appear to be formally stating your existing practices. And they seem logical. Obviously there are a few clarifcation issues and minor errors which need correcting, but i'm sure these will be corrected.

I only have one query. Regarding two letter domain names. I don't understand the restriction on these, especially considering that certain large companies (www.bt.co.uk) have domains registered seemingly against the rules as stated. Will these nomination be invalidated at the next renewal or is this another example of domain registrars being seemingly at the beck and call of big business?
