How to use WHOIS

- There appear to be no rules defining who may apply for a name in the .sch SLD.
- It is not clear what is meant by an ISP for the .net SLD - for example could a reseller of someone else's infrastructure or services be classified as a .net.uk registrant. ISP is getting to be a very ambiguous term these days.
- Some sort of clearly stated policy on "detagging" and making domains available for re-registration needs resolving - a lot of domains detagged last November are still classed as "detagged" rather than being back "in the marketplace" nine months after being detagged.
