  SLD - ltd - OK as far as it goes. There are bodies which co-operate with companies house, and issue certificates of incorporation to specialist companies and permit the use of the ltd extension.

Credit Unions and other friendly societies are now Limited Companies - Credit Unions are registered through the Financial Services Authority - was through the Registrar of Friendly Societies.

These should be permitted the use of the ltd.uk SLD - where the name does not clash with other existing users as per the section 5 restrictions.

an example of a Credit Union is Saltwell and Bensham Credit Union Ltd. Old registration was s376(if I recall correclty).
