CURRENT DRS

Under its existing Dispute Resolution Service, disputing parties - the Complainant and the Registrant - are encouraged to achieve a mediated resolution. The service is free to users and is carried out by trained Nominet staff.

Nominet has no power to impose a solution; if an agreement is reached it may be documented and, with the agreement of both parties, will create a contract enforceable in law.

Nominet does not have the power to transfer a Domain Name to a third party without the express consent of the Registrant or an Order of the Court. However, under its Rules, Nominet may suspend the delegation of a Domain Name on being informed that legal action has been commenced.
