In the early 1990s, Dr Black ran the Joint Academic Network (JANET) in the UK, as programme director of the United Kingdom Education and Research Networking Association. He was a member of the voluntary Naming Committee that vetted domain names prior to the formation of Nominet. Dr Black left UKERNA to set up Nominet UK in1996. His role as Executive Chairman focuses on strategy, high-level policy issues and relationships at an international and national level. |
