![]() Tom is a dual qualified solicitor in both Scotland and England and Wales. He joined Harper Macleod in April 1998 and was promoted to Associate within the Corporate & Commercial Department in April 1999. He was assumed a partner in May 2001. Tom leads the firm's Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group. He represents the firm in ecomlex, a European association of e-business law firms and is also a member of the CLA E-business and Intellectual Property Working Groups. Tom was responsible for setting up the firm's dotcomstartup project, the first of its kind in Scotland, a web-based service targeting new online business ventures. He is the principal adviser to the Scottish Premier League on matters relating to broadcasting, sponsorship and all other IP&T-related issues. Tom also acts as corporate adviser to a wide range of businesses in industry, sport and the creative arts.
