EXPERIENCE

His recent work involves the following:

Acting for interim management provider Impact Executives Limited at the trial of High Court passing off proceedings (2001, Jacob J) brought against them by management consultancy Impact Plus plc.

Acting for Montblanc Simplo GmbH in Genius Trade Mark [1999] RPC 741 and at the subsequent trial of related High Court proceedings for passing off and trade mark infringement Montblanc v Sepia (2000) 23(3) I.P.D. 23021.

Acting for the Defendants in Manton and others v Van Day & others [2001] All ER (D) 405, defending an interim application for injunctive relief by one pop group against another for alleged passing off in relation to the name 'Bucks Fizz'

Acting for the appellant Hoover Limited in the Court of Appeal in Dyson Ltd v Hoover Ltd (July 2001) on appeal from the High Court (reported at [2001] RPC 473) in a patent infringement action.

Acting in a dispute between two radio broadcasters over the right to broadcast live coverage of a series of sporting events, involving allegations of passing off, malicious falsehood and anti-competitive behaviour.

Acting for a brand proprietor in a co-ordinated series of search orders and ancillary remedies so as to put a stop to the UK importation and distribution of Far Eastern counterfeits.

Acting for a US corporation in arbitration proceedings concerning trans-Atlantic patent and know-how licensing.

Acting for multinational oil company in defence of a breach of confidence action brought in relation to smart card technology.

Advising and acting in disputes involving the deceptive registration of internet domain names.

Advising and acting for pharmaceutical companies and parallel importers in relation to 'grey' goods and parallel importation.

Obtaining Anton Piller search orders, Mareva freezing injunctions, Norwich Pharmacal orders and other High Court interim relief.

Acting in commercial disputes with substantial technical or technological content.

Acting for journalists, photographers and designers in copyright infringement actions against companies who have exploited their work without authorisation.

Advising on evidence and representing clients in trade mark opposition and revocation proceedings in the Trade Mark Registry.

Advising on evidence and representing clients in proceedings in the Designs Registry.

High Court advocacy in the Motions Court and Masters' corridor.

Settling complaints for use in the World Intellectual Property Organisation ICANN domain name dispute resolution procedure.

Settling complaints for submission to the Advertising Standards Authority in cases involving comparative advertising and misleading technical claims.
