Oldham Hulme Grammar School Stephen has a broad experience of intellectual property litigation in the High Court in London acting for defendants and plaintiffs. A sample of his work includes: VISX v Nidek [1999] FSR 405 High Court patent litigation relating to excimer laser ophthalmic surgery equipment for correction of refractive errors Collag v Merck - litigation which involved a dispute as to patent inventorship and ownership and claims of misuse of confidential information relating to formulation and manufacturing of a pesticide product One of the few reported patent compulsory licence cases - Re Thermatru's Patent [1997] RPC 777 acting for the patentee and resisting the application for a licence at first instance and on appeal Acting in multi-patent litigation relating to controls for kettles for Otter Controls against Strix Extensive experience of gathering evidence (by compulsion and consent) for UK patent trials from foreign jurisdictions including the United States Acting for Playboy in resisting an interim injunction application by the software house Eidos for alleged trade mark infringement.
